*The Vietnam War

The Vietnam War lasted to long, took to many lives and divided a nation. Those that went to Vietnam, did their duty, came home and resumed a normal life. They did what their country asked them to do, what more could be asked of anyone? There were a few who took up protesting and consumed their lives with hatred for what they did. I spent four tours in Vietnam and apologize to no one. VIETNAM

Do you remember the scene? The Senate - Barbara Boxer hearing from a Brigadier General? Silly General! He addresses Barbara as "Ma'm", and she CORRECTS him, telling him she's "worked SO hard to earn the title, "Senator", so please do use that when speaking to her.

Get a load of this letter!

Read the letter sent to Sen. Barbara Boxer from an Alaskan Airlines pilot below. Many of us witnessed the arrogance of Barbara Boxer on June 18, 2009 as she admonished Brigadier General Michael Walsh because he addressed her as "ma'am" and not "Senator" before a Senate hearing.

This letter is from a National Guard aviator and Captain for Alaska Airlines named Jim Hill. I wonder what he would have said if he were really angry. Long fly Alaska !!!!!

You were so right on when you scolded the General on TV for using the term, "ma'am," instead of "Senator". After all, in the military, "ma'am" is a term of respect when addressing a female of superior rank or position. The General was totally wrong. You are not a person of superior rank or position. You are a member of one of the world's most corrupt organizations, the U.S. Senate, equaled only by the U.S. House of Representatives.

Congress is a cesspool of liars, thieves, inside traders, traitors, drunks (one who killed a staffer, yet is still revered), criminals, and other low level swine who, as individuals (not all, but many), will do anything to enhance their lives, fortunes and power, all at the expense of the People of the United States and its Constitution, in order to be continually re-elected. Many Democrats even want American troops killed by releasing photographs. How many of you could honestly say, "We pledge our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor"? None? One? Two?

Your reaction to the General shows several things. First is your abysmal ignorance of all things military. Your treatment of the General shows you to be an elitist of the worst kind. When the General entered the military (as most of us who served) he wrote the government a blank check, offering his life to protect your corpulent derriere, now safely and comfortably ensconced in a 20 thousand dollar leather chair, paid for by the General 's taxes. You repaid him for this by humiliating him in front of millions.

Second is your puerile character, lack of sophistication, and arrogance, which borders on the hubristic. This display of brattish behavior shows you to be a virago, termagant, harridan, nag, scold or shrew, unfit for your position, regardless of the support of the unwashed, uneducated masses who have made California into the laughing stock of the nation.

What I am writing, are the same thoughts countless millions of Americans have toward Congress, but who lack the energy, ability or time to convey them. Regardless of their thoughts, most realize that politicians are pretty much the same, and will vote for the one who will bring home the most bacon, even if they do consider how corrupt that person is. Lord Acton (1834 - 1902) so aptly charged, "Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely."

Unbeknownst to you and your colleagues, "Mr. Power" has had his way with all of you, and we are all the worse for it.

Finally, Senator, I, too, have a title. It is "Right Wing Extremist Potential Terrorist Threat." It is not of my choosing, but was given to me by your Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Neapolitan, and you were offended by "ma'am"?

Chief Master Sergeant of the U. S. AIR FORCE

Chief Master Sergeant of the U.S. Air Force Paul Wesley Airey (Hero) - Chief of Staff Gen. Norton Schwartz described Airey as "an airman’s airman" and "one of the true pioneers of the service." "He was a warrior, an innovator and a leader with vision well ahead of his time," Schwartz said in a statement. "His legacy lives today in the truly professional enlisted force who are serving our nation and for that we owe him a debt of gratitude." My name is Bobby D. Thomas and I echo the statement by Gen. Schwartz regarding this great warrior. I salute CMSAF Airey and his accomplishments.

Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force Paul Wesley Airey was the 1st Chief Master Sergeant of the UNITED STATES AIR FORCE. CMSAF Paul Airey was Born Dec. 13, 1923 in Bedford Mass. and spent his childhood during the great depression in Quincy Mass. Nearly a year after the bombing of Pearl Harbor on Dec 7th 1942, he quit high school and after the rejection of a Navy recruiter, he joined the Army Air Corps. (Later earned a GED, ALS, NCOA, and SNCOA). He served as a radio operator and aerial gunner in a B-24 Bomber during WWII and was accredited w/28 combat missions, flying w/the 15th AF in Europe. After his A/C was shot down over Germany, he was captured and spent almost a year as a POW (From Jul 1944 to May 1945). His sense of discipline, common sense and support among the prisoners helped him during his capture. One of his POW experiences was that in Feb 1945, he and his allies (6000) were forced to move about 400 miles to another camp which took about 90 days to get there at Luneburg. Finally, the British 2nd Army liberated him on May 2nd, 1945. At that time, he only weighed less than 100lbs. After his 3-month recuperation, he returned to duty. One interesting thing about what he did was that during the Korean war as a NCOIC of Communications in Okinawa, he managed to develop a Corrosion Control Assembly Line to lower the moisture out of scrap material... he earned the Legion of Merit normally awarded to senior Officers for this development (The award is the 6th Highest Award in precedence). He served the highest Enlisted position from April 3, 1967 to July 21, 1969. He then went back to Tyndall AFB and spent the rest of his career as a first sergeant and retired in August of 1970.

Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force Paul Wesley Airey was adviser to Secretary of the Air Force Harold Brown and Air Force Chief of Staff General John P. McConnell on matters concerning welfare, effective utilization and progress of the enlisted members of the United States Air Force. He was the first Chief Master Sergeant appointed to this ultimate noncommissioned officer position and was selected from among 21 major command (MAJCOM) nominees to become the first Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force. Gen. McConnell formally installed him on 3 April 1967.

Chief Airey died in Panama City, Fla. on March 11, 2009. The funeral service was held on 28 May 2009 at the Fort Myer chapel followed by interment at Arlington National Cemetery. The SECAF authorized flying the national flag at half-staff at all Air Force facility locations in his honor on the day of his interment.

**** A TRUE HERO ****

Captain Ed Freeman

You're a 19 year old kid. You're critically wounded and dying in the jungle somewhere in the Central Highlands of Viet Nam. It's November 11, 1967. LZ (landing zone) X-ray. Your unit is outnumbered 8-1 and the enemy fire is so intense, from 100 yards away, that your CO (commanding officer) has ordered the MediVac helicopters to stop coming in. You're lying there, listening to the enemy machine guns and you know you're not getting out. Your family is half way around the world, 12,000 miles away, and you'll never see them again. As the world starts to fade in and out, you know this is the day. Then - over the machine gun noise - you faintly hear that sound of a helicopter. You look up to see a Huey coming in but ... It doesn't seem real because no Medi-Vac markings are on it. Captain Ed Freeman is coming in for you. He's not Medi-Vac so it's not his job, but he heard the radio call and decided he's flying his Huey down into the machine gun fire anyway. Even after the Medi-Vacs were ordered not to come. He's coming anyway and he drops in and sits there in the machine gun fire, as they load three of you at a time on board. Then he flies you up and out through the gunfire to the doctors and nurses and safety. And, he kept coming back!! thirteen more times!! Until all the wounded were out. No one knew until the mission was over that the Captain had been hit 4 times in the legs and left arm. He took twenty nine of you and your buddies out that day. Some would not have made it without the Captain and his Huey.

Medal of Honor Recipient, Captain Ed Freeman, United States Air Force, died last Wednesday (21 Aug 2008) at the age of 70, in Boise , Idaho.
